Honey poses a serious health threat to some people. As unbelievable as it may sound, the situation is far more serious than it seems. People who are sensitive to high concentrations of glucose in the blood should not eat honey. In certain cases, honey is practically no different from regular sugar.
Furthermore, nutritionists do not recommend honey to those allergic to pollen (especially problematic for children). People allergic to animal fur may also have issues with honey. For these individuals, it is advisable to significantly reduce the amount of honey consumed, if not completely eliminate it.
The biggest problem lies with those with slightly elevated blood sugar levels, but the issues are not as severe. For these individuals, nutritionists recommend abstaining from all types of sugar, honey, and carbohydrates for a few months.
